What’s Coming to Davenport? New Stores & Restaurants Opening in 2026

If you’ve driven down Highway 27 lately, you’ve noticed the orange groves disappearing and construction fences going up. As a local Realtor, the #1 question I get isn’t just “What is my home worth?” but “What are they building over there?”

Davenport and Haines City are currently in the middle of a massive retail “glow-up.” From major big-box anchors to new dining spots, here is the scoop on what is coming to our backyard in 2026.

1. The Big One: Home Depot is Coming!

For years, Davenport residents had to trek to Lake Wales or Winter Haven for home improvement needs. That’s changing. A massive 135,000+ square foot Home Depot is officially in the works for the intersection of Hwy 27 and Davenport Blvd.

  • The Bonus: A new Sherwin-Williams Paint Store is also planned for the same immediate area, making this the new hub for local homeowners and DIYers.

2. Crossroads Village Center (Haines City’s New Hub)

The 120-acre Crossroads Village Center (at the US 27 and US 17-92 interchange) is the project everyone is watching. The headline news? Haines City is finally getting its first Target. With a goal of completion by Summer 2026, this center will also house:

  • Multiple new sit-down restaurants.

  • A new hotel to support our growing tourism and business travel.

  • 300,000 square feet of total retail space.

3. New Dining & Quick Bites

The “ChampionsGate side” of Davenport and the corridor near Posner Park continue to land big names. Keep an eye out for these upcoming openings:

  • IHOP: Coming to U.S. 27 in Haines City (near Miracle Toyota).

  • Dutch Bros Coffee: The cult-favorite coffee chain is expanding into the Davenport area.

  • Blend & Bite: A new independent eatery slated for ChampionsGate Blvd.

  • Fast Food Expansion: New McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Bojangles locations are all moving through the pipeline along Hwy 27 to keep up with our population growth.

4. Expansion at Posner Park & Beyond

Posner Park isn’t finished yet. With Hobby Lobby and BJs Wholesale already staples, new “out-parcels” are being developed for medical offices, banking, and additional “Quick Service” restaurants (QSRs) to serve the thousands of new rooftops in Ridgewood Lakes and surrounding communities.

Why This Matters for Homeowners

Commercial growth follows rooftops. When major retailers like Target and Home Depot invest millions into a zip code, it’s a massive “Buy” signal for the area.

  • Convenience: Less time in traffic means a higher quality of life.

  • Property Value: Proximity to high-end retail and grocery stores historically boosts home resale values.

  • Jobs: These developments are bringing thousands of local jobs to Polk County, further strengthening our local economy.
